1. What classes does SJLC offer?
The San Jose Learning Center provides group classes, private lessons, and corporate programs for 18 different languages.
- Group Classes: Designed for adults (18+). Classes meet on weekday evenings and weekends.
- Private Lessons: Designed for teens and adults. Lessons may be scheduled any day and time the student prefers, either in person or online.
- Corporate Programs: Fully customized for companies. Classes may meet any day or time, in person at the company’s site or online.
Students may join classes in three learning formats: Online-only, In-Person only, or Hybrid. Pricing varies by format and level.
- Level 1: $349 (all formats)
- Levels 2 and above:
- Online-only: $349
- In-Person only: $369
- Hybrid: $399
English classes also offer Online, In-Person, and Hybrid formats. Prices are:
- Online-only: $159
- In-Person only: $179
- Hybrid: $199
Prime classes offer upgraded features and follow the same formats as other group classes.
- Level 1: $399 (all formats)
- Levels 2 and above:
- Online-only: $399
- In-Person only: $419
- Hybrid: $449
Prime classes include several enhanced benefits:
- Instructor Experience: All SJLC instructors are qualified, but Prime classes are always taught by native-speaking teachers with at least 5 years of teaching experience.
- Small Class Size: Prime classes are limited to 2–8 students, allowing for more individualized attention and practice.
- Refund Option: If a student is not satisfied with the first class, they may request a full refund within 48 hours.
- Free Repeat Option: If a student attends all classes and is still unsatisfied by the end of the course, they may repeat the same level whenever the course is offered again, at no cost (Prime or non-Prime, depending on availability). Class repeats are not available for Intermediate or Advanced levels.
Pricing depends on the number of hours purchased (1, 5, 10, 20, or 40 hours). Semi-Private lessons are for 2 students, with the cost split between them.

- Group Classes: Some group classes include materials, while others require students to purchase a textbook. Textbook details are listed on each class page.
- Private Lessons: Materials are included unless the student chooses to use a specific textbook, which they may purchase separately.
No, SJLC does not sell textbooks. However, each class page includes convenient links to online retailers where students can purchase the required textbook.
11. When will the next session begin?New group classes begin every month. The class schedule is posted on the website 4–6 weeks before the session starts.

14. Does SJLC offer student visas?No. SJLC does not issue student visas, including the I-20.
15. Does SJLC offer High School or College credit?No. Courses at SJLC do not qualify for high school or college credit, as its curriculum may differ.
16. Does SJLC offer Certificates of Completion?Yes. Students may request a certificate after completing a course. To qualify, students must either:
- Maintain 100% attendance, or
- Demonstrate full knowledge of the course material.
Missed group classes do not include free make-ups, but students may still stay on track by doing the following:
- Online & Hybrid Students: Review the class recording for the missed session.
- In-Person Students:
- Upgrade to Hybrid for $50 (if available) and receive all class recordings, or
- Schedule a discounted 1-hour make-up lesson:
- In-Person: $70/hr (normally $85/hr)
- Online: $60/hr (normally $75/hr)
Private lessons may be rescheduled at no charge with at least 24 hours’ notice. Cancellations made under 24 hours before the lesson start time will be considered taken.
19. Which holidays is SJLC closed?- New year: 1/1 (Thu) - 1/4 (Sun)
- Memorial: 5/23 (Sat) – 5/25 (Mon)
- 4th of July: 7/3 (Fri) – 7/5 (Sun)
- Labor Day: 9/5 (Sat) – 9/7 (Mon))
- Thanksgiving: 11/26 (Thu) – 11/29 (Sun)
- Christmas: 12/21 (Mon) – 12/31 (Thu)
